The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has issued a Level 1 Weather Watch warning of heavy rainfall, lightning, hail, and strong winds. A pressure rise over the southeast coasts of South Africa is driving cold and moist air into Zimbabwe, combining with existing moisture to create widespread thunderstorms.
