We believe the most powerful stories often come from fresh perspectives. If you are a talented writer, journalist, or expert with a compelling story to tell about Zimbabwe, we invite you to pitch our editorial team.
What We're Looking For
We are interested in stories that are relevant to a Zimbabwean audience. Our primary areas of focus include:
- Politics and Governance
- Business and Economy
- Social Issues and Community Stories
- Culture, Arts, and Entertainment
- Sports
We welcome a variety of formats, including:
- News Analysis: Go beyond the headlines to explain the "why" behind the news.
- In-Depth Features: Long-form articles that explore a person, place, or issue in detail.
- Investigative Reports: Well-researched stories that uncover new information.
- Opinion & Commentary: Strong, evidence-based arguments on timely topics.
How to Craft the Perfect Pitch
To help us review your idea effectively, please structure your email as follows:
- A Clear Subject Line: Start with "PITCH:" followed by a compelling, concise headline for your story.
- A Brief Summary: In one or two sentences, tell us what your story is about and why it matters now.
- Detailed Outline: In a few paragraphs, expand on your story. Explain your unique angle, who you plan to interview, and what you expect your reporting to reveal.
- About You: Tell us who you are and why you are the right person to write this story. Please include links to 1-3 relevant published works.
What Happens Next
Our editorial team reviews all pitches as quickly as possible. We aim to respond to every pitch, but due to the high volume we receive, this may not always be feasible. If you do not hear back from us within two weeks, please feel free to pitch your story elsewhere.
If we are interested in your pitch, an editor will get in touch to discuss the scope of the article, deadlines, and rates.
