Daniel Zavirima Claims Daughter Is Patience Mangwiro’s Child, Challenges Martin Muduva Narrative!

Daniel Zavirima: “The Girl Is Mine” as Patience Mangwiro’s Muduva Photo Sparks Paternity Questions

The tragic Dzivarasekwa murder-suicide saga has taken yet another unexpected and deeply personal turn. Daniel Zavirima, the ex-husband of Patience Mangwiro, has broken his silence to claim paternity of the young girl recently pictured in the arms of the late Commissioner Martin Muduva.

Zavirima has expressed profound disgust that his biological daughter is being dragged into the social media fallout surrounding the tragedy. His outrage was sparked after Patience posted a picture of the late Commissioner holding the girl with a caption suggesting the child had been left fatherless by the horrific events of last week.

"Tichasara Nani?": The Post That Sparked Outrage

Following the brutal murder of Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC) official Martin Muduva by his first wife, Lyliosa Chirara, early reports erroneously suggested that the Commissioner and his new wife, Patience Mangwiro, had a child together.

This rumor was heavily fueled when Patience shared a picture of Muduva holding a young girl, captioning it with the heartbreaking question: "Tichasara nani?" (Who will we be left with?).

"Disgusting and Deplorable" Daniel Zavirima stated that dragging his daughter into a violent tragedy was inexcusable. Because he is still alive, he does not understand why the Commissioner’s death should leave his daughter’s future in question.
The DNA Challenge Speaking to H-Metro, Zavirima was adamant: “I am very sure that I am the father of Patience Mangwiro’s daughter, the one she posted on social media in the arms of Commissioner Muduva. The post suggests that my daughter is Muduva’s child. If the daughter is not mine, then DNA tests will prove that.”

Infidelity and the White Wedding in Masvingo

Providing context to his claim, Zavirima outlined the timeline of his relationship with Patience. He revealed that he married her in 2018, and the couple celebrated with a white wedding the following year in Masvingo.

The 2022 Separation The couple officially separated at the end of 2022. Zavirima noted that their split followed complicated issues which he claims were directly linked to infidelity, coinciding with a period where he had also lost his job.
Clearing Muduva's Name Interestingly, Zavirima clarified that the late Commissioner Muduva was not the person behind the collapse of his marriage to Patience. "We have since cancelled the marriage certificate and I am now happily married to another woman," he stated.
Patience Declines to Comment When contacted by the media regarding her ex-husband's explosive claims, Patience Mangwiro declined to respond to questions, citing workplace protocol.

Where is Lyliosa Chirara's Final Letter?

In a major development regarding the criminal investigation, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has revealed that they do not have the suicide note penned by the late 43-year-old nurse, Lyliosa Chirara.

Official Police Statement National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed: “The Zimbabwe Republic Police is yet to see the suicide note reported to have been left by the deceased. Police are investigating the murder and sudden death by suicide cases in Dzivarasekwa Extension.”
How the Note Was Discovered According to Lyliosa’s close friend, Nancy Tembo, the note was found stashed among her clothes during the packing process for her burial in Njanja, Hwedza. Per traditional customs, her clothes were being prepared to be placed in her grave.
Family Discord Over the Letter Tembo revealed a fierce family clash over the document: “After informing the Muduva family about the note, they did not want it read, but the Chirara family read it. That caused more discord and we left the house in a huff as some Muduva family members had been angered.”

A Complex Web of Marriages and Secrets

As the dust refuses to settle on the Dzivarasekwa tragedy, the complexities of the late Commissioner Muduva's personal life are coming to the forefront. A close relative, who requested anonymity, disclosed that Muduva fathered five children with three different women.

The relative confirmed that when Lyliosa first married Muduva, they were blessed with three children, but the foundation of their 14-year union began to violently crack with the arrival of Patience Mangwiro. “Their marriage started to shake with the coming in of Patience. There were threats,” the source revealed, adding that the late couple had even explored the possibility of a formal divorce before the fatal axe attack.

With the suicide note still missing from police custody and a bitter paternity dispute now public, the fallout from this horrifying gender-based violence (GBV) tragedy continues to shatter the families left behind.
