"I have been using the same ferry for more than five years, but this time it was different," said Itayi Marumisa. "There were so many drums of diesel and groceries. The boat was simply overloaded."
"The life jackets were buried under the luggage, and not more than 30 people managed to get them," she recounted. As the boat began to sink, the scene devolved into absolute terror.
"We sensed we were in danger. Luggage was slipping overboard. Children were screaming, but the captain did not seem to care."
