"There is No Justification": Olinda Chapel Issues Sweeping Apology After Legal Crisis
Following her recent appearance at the Harare Magistrates’ Court on cyberbullying charges, UK-based businesswoman Olinda Chapel has issued a lengthy, emotional public apology. Addressing the harm caused to Kelsea Tafirenyika and Dyonne Tafirenyika, Chapel expressed deep regret for what she described as "unforgivable boundaries" crossed during her online outbursts.

Accountability to Kelsea Tafirenyika
Olinda began by addressing Kelsea by name, acknowledging the use of offensive and disrespectful language. "There is absolutely no justification for what I did. My behavior was wrong, and I take full responsibility for it," she stated.
She emphasized that the name-calling and swearing caused "harm, disrespect, and distress," and humbly asked for Kelsea’s forgiveness.
Regret Regarding Dyonne Tafirenyika
Addressing the ex-wife of musician Stunner, Olinda admitted to spreading misleading information that damaged Dyonne's reputation. "I deeply regret the way I treated Dyonne... I used demeaning and insulting language toward her, spoke about her in a degrading manner, and spread false and misleading information that damaged her character," she wrote.
She further apologized for violating Dyonne's privacy by posting content without consent, escalating a private matter into a public spectacle.
The "Unforgivable Boundary": Involving a Minor
Perhaps the most serious part of the apology focused on her attempts to interfere with Dyonne's relationship with her child. Olinda acknowledged that she tried to influence how the child appeared on social media and suggested the child be kept away from its mother.
"This was wrong on every level. No one has the right to interfere with a parent’s bond with their child, and my actions showed a complete lack of respect... I am truly ashamed that I allowed my behavior to reach that point."
Moving Forward: A Lesson in Words
Olinda urged everyone to use this situation as a cautionary tale. "Words have consequences, and we must all be mindful of how we speak about one another. No one should mention, insult, defame, or disrespect others publicly or privately."
She also took a moment to clarify that the conflict was never about a man, and any implication otherwise was false and unfair.
Background: The Court Remand
This apology follows Olinda’s court appearance on December 31, 2025, where she was granted US$100 bail by Harare Magistrate Ms. Ruth Moyo. She is facing charges under the Cyber and Data Protection Act for a Facebook Live broadcast made on December 17.
As part of her bail conditions, she surrendered her passport and is expected to return to court on January 16, 2026. Legal experts suggest this public apology may be part of an effort to show remorse as the case proceeds.
