Public Feud Escalates: DJ Ollah 7 vs. Silent Killer – The 'Kisimusi pa Ruzezha' Fallout

Report By: Sona Headlines Editorial | Date: January 15, 2026

As of January 2026, the professional relationship between prominent Zimbabwean media personality DJ Ollah 7 (Owen Madondo) and dancehall recording artist Silent Killer (Jimmy Mudereri) has formally fractured, marking a significant shift in Zimbabwe’s entertainment and digital media landscape. What began as a mutually beneficial collaboration—driven by viral podcast interviews, high-engagement online content, and public discourse around music culture—has since devolved into a public dispute.

The fallout centers on a failed Christmas performance, after which allegations of fraud, breach of agreement, and unprofessional conduct were raised. The dispute escalated further with claims of police and CID involvement, drawing widespread attention across social media platforms, entertainment blogs, and digital news outlets. The situation highlights broader challenges within Zimbabwe’s creative industry, including contract enforcement, event management accountability, and trust between artists and media platforms.

Key Conflict Points (Jan 2026)

The rift stems from the "Kisimusi pa Ruzezha" event in December 2025. DJ Ollah 7 alleges that Silent Killer confirmed a performance, received payment, and then failed to appear.

DJ Ollah 7's Official Rebuttal

In a detailed public statement, DJ Ollah 7 sought to "put the matter to rest," providing a timeline of events that depicts the artist as unprofessional and dishonest. Below is the breakdown of his statement:

"Silent Killer wasn’t on my poster or part of the performers. He called me a day before the show asking to be added to the list. I told him that I do not have money since my budget was strained. He insisted that he wanted to perform, saying 'tipei zviripo mdara basa torova'."

"I told him to come and take the money then. He came and I gave him $500 cash; this was on the 23rd of December when the event was on the 25th. He promised to come and perform."

"Lalo (Silent Killer's associate) texted me on the day asking for fuel. Their former manager General Ovi sent him the money via Ecocash. Upon receiving the money, they switched off their phones till the next day. He never said anything to me until 27 December."

"I came back from the village, I called him... he gave excuses until I went to his house. I said 'return my money since you didn't come.' He has been unreachable since that day. This led me to then file a report through the ZRP."

"Just to add, on the 27th of December, he was scheduled to perform in Bulawayo for Chipaz. He was paid $1500 cash in advance, he didn’t go. He asked for fuel, got $100 on top, but still didn’t go. Chipaz called me complaining as well."

"The question is, if you gave a person money who asked to perform, and they didn't show up or refund you, isn't this fraud?" — DJ Ollah 7
