"We Have Nothing New To Offer": Businessman Tinashe Mutarisi Speaks on Shutting Down Nash TV!

The Nash Paints and Nash TV boss says the platform has "done its best."

Why Nash TV is Closing

Mutarisi took to Facebook to explain the shock decision, citing three main factors: content saturation, the end of the pandemic, and financial viability.

Mutarisi was blunt in his assessment, stating that the team had reached their creative ceiling.

“I know most of you want to know why we are closing Nash TV. I believe we have done our best. There is nothing new we can offer you guys right now. I don’t want to keep holding on, because I think everything we did is what we wanted to do,” he explained.

Nash TV rose to prominence as a digital stage when lockdowns silenced live venues. Mutarisi noted that the platform's utility has diminished now that the world has opened up.

“The reason why we created Nash TV was because of COVID. Now that Covid is over, we need to call it quits,” he said.

Running a high-quality media house requires significant capital. Mutarisi admitted the venture was becoming a heavy burden.

“The media industry is not easy, and it’s financially draining. We have really done our best. The main reason is that we have done our best, that’s it,” he added.

What Happens to the Artists?

With big names like Saintfloew and Nisha Ts associated with the brand, fans were quick to ask about their future.
