The Raymer Tug-of-War Between Zim Corner & Tinashe Mutarisi - "Contracts or Clout Chasing?"

Clout, Contracts & Controversy: Junior PC Demands "Token of Appreciation" from Tinashe Mutarisi

A breakout star, two powerful management camps, and a deal that has shaken the industry. Zim Corner, led by Junior PC, claims they nurtured Raymer before Tinashe Mutarisi signed the artist without proper acknowledgment. Junior PC has now taken to social media with a stern warning, demanding a "token of appreciation" and threatening spiritual action if ignored.

Raymer’s transition from Zim Corner to Nash Nation has sparked a heated debate on compensation and loyalty.

As fans rally, critics weigh in, and Junior PC threatens to visit "Ndunge," the saga has become a national conversation on how the Zimbabwean music business handles growth, contracts, and early-stage investment.

"We Are Not Hungry" — Junior PC Breaks Silence

Junior PC, representing Zim Corner, claims that Tinashe Mutarisi promised a "token of appreciation" after Raymer's album launch but has since gone silent. In a strongly worded statement, he expressed his frustration, even hinting at seeking traditional intervention if the matter isn't resolved.

"Ndauyawo nenyaya yangu kuna TINASHE MUTARISI ko zvamakati after album muchauya Ku ZIMCORNER MUSIC wi token of appreciat....BT makangoti zii asi pent hais kutengwa here. Or makangotora star yedu for free ...uye handina kugara nema beat akadhakwa amakamugadzirira.....takukupai madays ....zvakaramba takuenda Kwa NDUNGE not NDUNGE YUT. Taiti murudo. Dangerous. Zim corner music we can't let them take advantage of us coz making music is our life. We are not hungry."

Translation/Context: Junior PC questions why Mutarisi went silent on the promised token, asking if Nash Paints ("pent") isn't selling enough to pay them. He defends his production quality, stating he didn't produce "drunk (bad) beats" for Raymer. He gives an ultimatum, threatening to visit "Ndunge" (a reference to a famous traditional healer/witch doctor) if unpaid, emphasizing that this is about livelihood and principle, not hunger.

"No Paperwork, No Case"

Despite the emotional plea from Junior PC, the court of public opinion remains fixated on the legality of his claims. Many users argue that without a signed contract, moral claims hold little water in the music business.

  • Ali Destro Mutamba: "Nhai Junior PC Was Raymer your signed artist? Kana pasina contract hauna nyaya, Ibvai pazvinhu zvavanhu."
  • Ngaatendwe Jason: "The first question is: Is there a valid contract between Zim corner and Raymer?"
  • Dizzy Blitz: "Do these people demanding money understand the actual music biz or kungoti tipe Mari?"

The consensus is clear: If Raymer was a free agent on paper, Junior PC’s demands may be legally unenforceable, regardless of his early investment.

Public Reaction: Support vs. Skepticism

A section of fans sided with Junior PC, acknowledging his role in Raymer's career and criticizing big players for exploiting smaller studios.

Obert Chimombe advised: "Haaa king siyanai nako kamfana ako wangu. Only God knows. Vanhu havazvinzwisise vana Tinashe Mutarisi ma opportunist vaya wangu. Keep working ruoko runopa runo ropofadzwa kudarika runo gamuchira. Keep working bro mavideo ayo manyama even sound quality iyo ma1💯"

Savage Di Don added simply: "That wasn’t fair braaa... Yu ain’t wrong."

Pretty Mugandani praised his consistency: "Kamunhu aka hakachembere ndati urikuzvibata bho junior PC ndakakuona pane rimwe riddm kudhara 12 years back still the same urikuzvibata bhoo."

The debate also touched on whether Zim Corner truly "made" Raymer or if his talent shone on its own. Trosleey Nyasha Tronicks Mupupuni recalled seeing Junior PC acting as a bouncer on TikTok, urging Mutarisi to support both the new and old management: "Tinashe Mutarisi mukuru munofanirwa kungosupporter mayouth both side kwaanenge akatangira newamunenge matora wacho....Titende."

However, others mocked the entitlement. Ever Mashiri joked: "But pawaiendesa mwana ku Nash tv iwewe pc waiti arikuenda ku boarding school here 😂😂😂"

"Just Let It Go"

Many commenters advised Junior PC to focus on the future rather than fighting a losing battle. ZJ Pythaan DancehallGuard said: "Zviriko bro just let it go. Hauende mberi ukatarisa zvekumashure just stay focus mberi munotongoenda mega."

Others called for Raymer to step up. Dexter Tinashe Tawanda Chitiyo suggested: "Raymer Official I think apa pakuda iwewe as an individual umbopindurawo nyaya idzi so as to clear the air coz izvi zvinopa bad image kustable yako newewo futi... Just kindly respond and admit that they kinda helped you a bit but you're happy at Nashtv."
