As founders of Faith in God Ministries International, their joint legacy is one of unwavering evangelistic passion, deep doctrinal teaching, and profound personal sacrifice.

The Archbishop's Journey

At the tender age of fifteen, God called Arch-Bishop Asa Gurupira into ministry. However, he initially pursued his own academic ambitions, spending seven years in Cuba where he acquired a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and became fluent in Spanish. Upon returning to Zimbabwe, he secured a lucrative corporate position in Harare's chemical industry. Yet, the call of God remained heavy upon him, and he eventually made the life-altering decision to leave his career for full-time ministry.

Asa Gurupira is a prolific speaker who ministers under a powerful evangelistic and apostolic anointing. He has a great passion for lost souls, with a particular focus on the often-neglected rural areas of Africa. His ministry extends far beyond Zimbabwe, with his fluency in Spanish opening doors for him to minister in Latin American countries, including Mexico.

The Apostle's Calling

Apostle Mavis Gurupira is a professional Radiographer who, like her husband, resigned from a well-paying job to go into full-time ministry. She is a dedicated minister, a great intercessor for her husband's ministry, and an internationally acclaimed teacher of the Word of God. Her life is a profound example of commitment and partnership in faith.

A prolific writer of Christian books, Pastor Mavis holds an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies from Logos University and graduated from the renowned Christ for the Nations Institute (CFNI) in Dallas, Texas. She has been greatly used by God in the area of counselling, bringing hope and healing to many disheartened and broken women through her compassionate ministry.

A Ministry Without Borders

Together, Arch-Bishop Asa and Pastor Mavis Gurupira founded and oversee Faith in God Ministries International (FIG), a thriving ministry with over 125 Pastors. They oversee more than sixty assemblies throughout Zimbabwe, especially in rural areas, and have established churches in Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and the United Kingdom, with a total congregation of over 20,000 members.

Arch-Bishop Gurupira was instrumental in establishing one of Zimbabwe’s most doctrinally sound bible schools, Goshen Bible College. The college boasts an international student body, training pastors, leaders, and believers who desire an in-depth knowledge of the scriptures and their practical application in the real world.
