Early Life and Divine Encounters

Born Emmanuel Shingirai Makandiwa on December 25, 1977, he grew up in a devout Christian home where his parents were farmers in Muzarabani. They hosted numerous gospel crusades, sparking a passion for ministry in young Emmanuel. He began preaching at a young age and started having supernatural encounters, including visions where God revealed his future ministry.

After finishing high school, he dedicated himself to the call of God, enrolling at Living Waters Theological Seminary and graduating with a Diploma in Theology in 2002.

The Rise of a Global Ministry

After graduating, Pastor Makandiwa's dynamic preaching in the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) drew huge congregations. This led him to establish a non-denominational lunch-hour fellowship in Harare, which grew exponentially. In 2008, this movement culminated in the founding of the United Family International Church (UFIC).

Today, UFIC is a mega-church with tens of thousands attending its services. His ministry is characterized by mind-blowing miracles, accurate prophecies, and profound revelations from the word of God. His influence extends globally through platforms like Christ TV, a free-to-air Christian network, and the annual Judgment Night conference, which attracts over 150,000 people and has been endorsed as a major tourist attraction.

Family, Charity, and Spiritual Fatherhood

Emmanuel Makandiwa is married to Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa, his co-founder and partner in ministry. She leads the charity arm, Agape Family Care, which supports thousands of widows and orphans monthly and has funded hundreds of free eye cataract surgeries through "Operation Restore Sight." In recognition of her work, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters.

The couple is blessed with five children and maintains a stable family life despite the demands of their global ministry. Prophet Makandiwa openly submits to his spiritual father, Reverend Victor Kusi-Boateng of Ghana, championing the concept of spiritual fatherhood as a biblical principle.
