Emmanuel Makandiwa: A Biography of Faith, Prophecy, and Global Impact
Revered as a Preacher, Prophet, Teacher, and Spiritual Father by millions, Emmanuel Makandiwa is a towering figure in modern Christianity. His life is a testament to a divine calling, marked from a young age by supernatural encounters and an unwavering character that set him apart.
From the fields of Muzarabani to the global stage, his journey to founding the mega-church United Family International Church (UFIC) has inspired countless souls. With profound teachings, accurate prophecies, and a powerful healing ministry, Prophet Makandiwa continues to shape lives and spread a message of faith, hope, and deliverance across the world.
The Foundation of a Calling
Born Emmanuel Shingirai Makandiwa on Christmas Day, 1977, his spiritual journey began in a devout Christian home in Muzarabani. His parents, both farmers and AFM elders, frequently hosted gospel crusades, immersing young Emmanuel in an atmosphere of faith. It was here that a passion for ministry was ignited, with his childhood marked by extraordinary supernatural encounters and visions that revealed the blueprint for his future ministry.
After completing his high school education, he fully committed to his calling by enrolling at the Living Waters Theological Seminary. He graduated with a Diploma in Theology in 2002, spiritually and academically equipped to embark on the path God had laid before him.
From Local Revival to Global Impact
Serving as a pastor in the AFM, Makandiwa's dynamic and revelatory preaching drew massive congregations. This overwhelming growth led him to establish a non-denominational lunch-hour fellowship in Harare, which grew exponentially and culminated in the founding of the United Family International Church (UFIC) in 2008.
Today, UFIC is a global mega-church with tens of thousands attending weekly. His influence transcends borders through platforms like Christ TV, a free-to-air Christian network, and the annual Judgment Night conference, an event so massive—attracting over 150,000 people—that it has been endorsed as a major national tourist attraction.
A Partnership in Faith
Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa is married to Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa, his co-founder and steadfast partner in life and ministry. Together, they lead UFIC with grace and wisdom, maintaining a stable and loving family life with their five children despite the demands of a global ministry.
Prophetess Makandiwa spearheads the ministry's charity arm, Agape Family Care, a powerful initiative providing monthly support to thousands of widows, orphans, and students. Its flagship campaign, "Operation Restore Sight," has funded hundreds of life-changing eye cataract surgeries free of charge, earning her an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters for her immense philanthropic work.
