"I'm Driving With No Proper Documentation": Sugar Sugar Reveals He Doesn't Have the Registration Book for Chivayo’s Gifted Fortuner

Sungura musician Taruvinga Manjokota, popularly known as Sugar Sugar, has made a startling revelation regarding the Toyota Fortuner gifted to him by the late businessman Wicknell Chivayo. The Mudododo hitmaker disclosed that he does not have the vehicle's registration book, leaving him in a precarious legal position on the roads.

IN LIMBO: Musician Sugar Sugar revealed he is currently driving his gifted Toyota Fortuner without the necessary legal documentation following Wicknell Chivayo's sudden passing.

Speaking to ZBC, Sugar Sugar explained that Chivayo tragically died before the vehicle’s ownership could be officially transferred into his name. His remarks highlight the growing administrative and legal issues surrounding the late billionaire's estate and his famous public giveaways.

Missing Registration Unpaid Cars Public Scrutiny Takeaways

Driving Without Papers

In a candid interview with ZBC, the sungura legend opened up about the stark reality of receiving his high-profile gift just before his benefactor's untimely death.

"I don’t even have the car’s registration book, and I don’t know where it is. I’m driving around in a car with no proper documentation. Sir Wicknell died before ownership of the vehicle could be transferred."

The Complications

Legal Risks

Driving a vehicle without a registration book poses significant risks, including potential issues at police checkpoints, difficulty insuring the car, and an inability to legally prove ownership.

Unknown Whereabouts

Sugar Sugar admitted he does not know where the physical registration book is or what steps, if any, were initiated by Chivayo's team to complete the change of ownership process.

The Dealership Connection

Sugar Sugar's predicament is closely tied to broader revelations about how the late businessman sourced his famous giveaways. Recent reports indicate that the vehicles were not always paid for upfront.

15 Vehicles Unpaid For The Enterprise Car Sales owner recently stated that 15 vehicles supplied to Wicknell Chivayo are yet to be paid for. Because the dealership has not received full payment, releasing the registration books to the beneficiaries becomes a complex legal hurdle.

DJ Ollah's Clarifications Following earlier fears that his car might be repossessed, media personality DJ Ollah intervened to clarify Sugar Sugar’s position. While the dealership assured him they are not currently repossessing the cars, the ownership transfer remains entirely frozen.

Gifts Under the Microscope

Sugar Sugar’s disclosure comes amid intense public and legal scrutiny regarding the myriad of vehicles gifted by Chivayo. The businessman’s high-profile giveaways to musicians, comedians, and religious figures attracted massive public attention during his life, but his death has left many loose ends.

An Estate in Transition The businessman’s passing has triggered pressing questions about the status of several gifted vehicles, particularly in cases where ownership transfers and documentation were not completed prior to his death. Beneficiaries are now waiting for the appointed estate executor to clear the outstanding balances and formally hand over the paperwork.

Key Takeaways

No Paperwork, No Ownership While Sugar Sugar physically possesses the Toyota Fortuner, the lack of a registration book means he legally does not own the vehicle yet. He is driving an undocumented vehicle, exposing him to regulatory risks on the road.

The Dealership's Hold With Enterprise Car Sales confirming that 15 of Chivayo's gifted vehicles are still unpaid, dealerships are likely holding onto the registration books as leverage or collateral until the estate settles the outstanding debts.

A Waiting Game For Sugar Sugar and other recent beneficiaries, there is nothing to do but wait. Until Chivayo's estate is properly administered and creditors are paid, these luxury gifts remain in a frustrating state of legal limbo.
