Keita last performed in Zimbabwe in 2015 at the Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA), an appearance that remains deeply etched in his memory. It was the last time he visited the country before Mtukudzi's passing in 2019.

The Birthday Wish "I am a conservation person. For my 80th birthday, I would love my fans to plant a tree. This will be my biggest birthday present... Africa is being affected by deforestation, especially in Mali, which didn't receive the expected rain this year."

The Secret Project Keita is currently developing a massive pan-African collaborative project for his 80th milestone. His manager, Carolina Vallejo, noted, "He is very secretive... but believe me, he is working on a massive project."

Still Going Strong Despite his age, Keita shows no signs of slowing down. He revealed plans for a new album slated for release in 2027 and confirmed international tours stretching all the way to 2028.
