Focus: Defamation Lawsuit | Issue: Infidelity & STI Claims | Source: Timothy Ndoro
The popular social media couple Gilbert and Joyce Nyamhanhindi, famous online as the Nyathi Family, have launched a legal battle against fellow content creator Louisa. This follows explosive allegations of infidelity, disease, and abuse that Louisa made during a recent appearance on the DJ Ollah Podcast.

Through their South Africa-based legal representatives, Mahuntsi Attorneys Incorporated, the couple filed a formal complaint on January 10, 2026. They are demanding a full retraction, an apology, and an immediate end to what they call defamatory statements that have damaged their reputation and caused emotional distress.
The Boksburg Lodge Incident
"R15,000 and a Girlfriend"
During the podcast, Louisa made specific allegations about Gilbert Nyamhanhindi’s conduct. She claimed he had been caught at a lodge after an incident involving his wife in South Africa.
Louisa alleged: “Gilbert had taken R15,000 (approx. US$800) to Boksburg, where he booked a lodge with a girlfriend, using his wife’s number at the reception. According to Louisa, Gilbert’s wife went to the lodge and exposed the situation.”
Health & Family Attacks
Crossing the line into private medical history.
The legal letter of demand cites highly personal allegations. It states that Louisa claimed Joyce Nyamhanhindi (Mai Nyathi) had confided in her about contracting a sexually transmitted infection (STI) from Gilbert.
The lawyers’ letter outlines the severity of these statements:
- Alleging Mrs. Nyathi contracted an STI.
- Making disparaging remarks against the client's parents.
- Impugning the family's character and morality.
The 72-Hour Legal Ultimatum
Mahuntsi Attorneys Incorporated have issued a strict deadline. Louisa has 72 hours from receipt of the letter to comply fully.
The Demands:
- Withdraw all posts, recordings, interviews, and comments across all platforms.
- Publish a comprehensive written retraction and apology.
The letter warns of immediate action for defamation and crimen injuria under South African law (POPIA), noting: "In the event that you relocate to Zimbabwe, we shall instruct our correspondent attorneys to deal with the matter."
Nyathi Family's United Front
This lawsuit represents a united front from the couple, who have recently faced public controversy. In a joint live broadcast prior to the legal action, they publicly addressed a series of leaked voice notes that contained similar allegations.
During that broadcast, they dismissed the audio as fabrications. They claimed the recordings were an AI-generated creation made by their "enemies" to tarnish their image. The move to sue Louisa marks a significant escalation in their efforts to control the narrative.
