Behind the curated skits and the "Power Couple" facade, Joyce Nyathi (Mai Nyathi) has reportedly been living a life of internal torment. In an explosive interview on The Ollah 7 Podcast, the woman responsible for leaking the infamous audios, Louisa, reveals that Joyce’s silence was born from a paralyzing fear of her own audience.

The revelations suggest that the leaks weren't just a betrayal of friendship, but a calculated "misguided cry for help" from a 20-year-old who felt that complaining about her popular husband, Gilbert Nyathi, would result in the world turning against her.
The Untold Story: Why She Stayed Silent
"Vanondipandukira" (They will turn against me).
Louisa reveals that Joyce’s primary reason for enduring "kushupika" (suffering) for over three months was her fear of the audience. Joyce reportedly told Louisa: "Biggest fear yangu sisi, social media, vanondipandukira."
She believed that because Gilbert is loved by the fans, they would label her as "dirty" (hanzi haugeze) or ungrateful if she exposed the alleged physical abuse and infidelity in their home.
When the audios first surfaced, the couple claimed they were either "AI-generated" or part of a "skit" to boost Joyce’s Facebook page. Louisa refutes this, stating that the audios were real recordings of genuine distress, and that the "skit" narrative was a damage-control tactic used to keep the brand alive.
Whistleblowing or Betrayal?
The motive behind the public exposure.
Louisa claims she leaked the audios because Joyce was "suffering west" (severely) and needed an exit strategy she couldn't execute herself. "She wanted me to leak it," Louisa asserts, suggesting that Joyce provided the evidence so a third party could take the heat for the exposure.
According to Louisa, Joyce was even removed from their Facebook Page access at one point, leaving her with no platform and no voice, while the couple reportedly earned up to $25,000 monthly from their content—money Joyce allegedly did not see.
Allegations of Power Imbalance
Despite being the face of many skits, allegations suggest Joyce was financially marginalized. Louisa claims Joyce had no access to the money they made together and was sometimes left without basic support, even during a trip to Dubai where health issues allegedly arose.
One of the more graphic claims in the audios involved a health scare in Dubai, referred to as "Sikele Blue" (allegedly Syphilis). Joyce claimed in the leaks that Gilbert had infected her, leading to a deep state of depression ("Akatomboita depression west").
The Boksburg Lodge Incident
Louisa recounts helping Joyce track Gilbert to a lodge in Boksburg, South Africa, where he was allegedly with a Zulu woman named Treezer. Gilbert had reportedly taken 15,000 Rand from Joyce before disappearing.
Louisa describes how they set a trap using a room service number, eventually leading Joyce to catch Gilbert. Despite having photographic proof, the fear of public opinion forced Joyce to continue the facade for months afterward.
