Freddy 'Kapfupi' Manjalima’s Marriage to Mai Nga Ends Amid Infidelity Allegations and Legal Threats
Marriage Collapses Amid Infidelity Claims
Freddy "Kapfupi" Manjalima has confirmed the collapse of his marriage to Mai Nga, barely a year after their highly publicised wedding. The comedian has pointed to infidelity as the primary cause, claiming to possess evidence of his wife's alleged affair.
A Short-Lived Union
The couple, celebrated for their union in February 2024, are now living apart. Sources close to the pair indicate that tensions had been building for months before the separation became public.
"She is the one who knows why she ran away from me," Kapfupi stated, suggesting the departure was initiated by Mai Nga.
"I Have The Evidence"
Kapfupi has not minced words regarding the cause of the split.
THE EVIDENCE
Names & Details
Kapfupi claims to have the "names and details" of the man involved. "I have everything about her cheating, including the name of the boyfriend. If it goes to court or if I go live, I will produce the evidence."
THE THREAT
Legal Action
He further alleged that the man in question has threatened to take legal action against him.
"I Am My Own Lawyer"
Facing potential court battles and financial limitations, Kapfupi has declared he will represent himself.
"To the public I say, I do not need any lawyer. I will stand in court on my own because I am my own lawyer."
Freddy "Kapfupi" Manjalima
Born on October 31, 1978, in Harare, Zimbabwe, Freddy Manjalima, popularly known as Kapfupi, grew up immersed in the arts. His passion for performance emerged at a young age through school theatre and community street performances, laying the foundation for his future career in comedy and music.
Kapfupi rose to national attention through street theatre performances in Harare and the popular TV show Street Theatre. His early work included comic-drama series like What Goes Around Comes Around and Notorious Kapfupi, which established him as one of Zimbabwe’s most beloved comedians.
In 1998, he co-founded the True Vision Drama Club with Jeffrey Chikwesere (Aphiri), producing the hit series Magariro for local television.
Transitioning into music, Kapfupi integrated live performances into his comedic acts. His 2005 debut album Uchakanga Waya showcased his sungura skills, but it was the award-winning hit "Mai Nga" that catapulted him to national stardom. He also formed the popular band Orchestra Ndoozvo, further cementing his position in Zimbabwean music.
In 2013, Kapfupi gained international recognition when he performed in London, England, invited to showcase his music at an album launch event.
Kapfupi’s personal life recently made headlines when his marriage to his wife, famously known as "Mai Nga", reportedly broke down amidst allegations of infidelity in late 2025. Despite personal challenges, he remains an influential figure in Zimbabwean entertainment.
The Silence
Despite the heavy allegations and growing public interest, Mai Nga has not yet issued a statement.
Kapfupi insists she should be the first to openly address the reasons behind the split: "I want her to explain why she left."
