Nubian Notes Concert: Zimbabwe’s Top Female Artists Unite for a Historic Show
In what is being billed as a landmark event, the "Nubian Notes" concert is set to celebrate Zimbabwe's leading women in music with a powerhouse all-female lineup. Featuring stars like Tamy Moyo, Feli Nandi, and Gemma Griffiths, the show on November 8 aims to challenge industry norms and prove the immense prowess of the nation's female artists.
A New Stage for Women in Music
Under the theme “Mambokadzi – The Rise of Her Sound,” the event aims to provide a platform where female voices take centre stage—strong, unapologetic, and inspiring. For too long, female musicians have played second fiddle to their male counterparts in Zimbabwe, and Nubian Notes is a direct challenge to that narrative. This concert celebrates empowerment, creativity, and the powerful unity of Zimbabwe’s women in music.
Presented by Gateway Stream Media and ZAR Events, the Nubian Notes concert will feature an incredible all-female lineup of Zimbabwe’s top performers, including Tamy Moyo, Feli Nandi, Shashl, Gemma Griffiths, and Nisha TS. The night will be hosted by celebrated radio personalities Becky K (Capitalk FM) and KVG (Star FM), with Yahya the DJ spinning throughout the show to keep the energy high.
The event takes place at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on Saturday, 8 November 2025.
Doors open at 5 PM and the concert begins at 7 PM.

For performer Shashl, the concert is more than just a performance. “It’s a statement of unity and strength,” she said. “It’s about women standing together, celebrating each other’s voices, and breaking the narrative that we must compete to shine.” She promised a soulful and heartfelt set, describing it as “a celebration of womanhood, music, and unity.”
Nisha T echoed the sentiment of empowerment, viewing Nubian Notes as a collective moment of strength. “It’s a reminder of the power we hold as women when we come together,” she stated. “We are no longer waiting for permission to take up space—we’re building our own platforms and breaking barriers across all genres.”
The Organizers' Vision
Gateway Stream Media Manager Elton Kurima emphasized the event's broader purpose. “By partnering with these incredible women, we are not just hosting a concert—we are building an ecosystem that supports artistry and creativity,” he said. Kurima stressed that while the lineup is all-female, the show is for every music lover, calling it a "celebration of sound, strength, and togetherness."
The artists themselves are leaving nothing to chance. Stars like Feli Nandi, Tamy Moyo, and Gemma Griffiths have been seen criss-crossing the streets of Harare, from tertiary institutions to salons, personally drumming up support and connecting with fans to ensure the historic night is a resounding success.
