Born Olivia Maseko on August 14, 1973, Mai Charamba's musical journey began in the Salvation Army choir in the 1980s. Her professional career launched in 1997 as a backing vocalist on her husband's debut album, "Tinashe Akatendeka."

In 2000, she stepped into the spotlight with her solo debut album, "Amen." The album was a monumental success, establishing her as a powerful vocalist and songwriter in her own right and earning her the affectionate title "Mai Charamba."

Following the success of "Amen," Mai Charamba released a series of critically acclaimed albums, including "Daily Bread" (2000), "The Gospel" (2009), and "Voice of Miriam."
