Facebook Live Drama Escalates: Tytie and Kiki Served with Summons by South African Court
Popular Zimbabwean social media influencers, Tytie and Kiki, have been plunged into a legal crisis after being served with court summons in Johannesburg. The couple, known for their candid Facebook live streams, now face an uncertain legal battle stemming from a social media feud that has spilled into the real world.
A Shock Summons in Johannesburg
The drama unfolded when the couple received an unexpected call from a Johannesburg court sheriff demanding their immediate presence in South Africa. Overwhelmed by shock and confusion, Tytie and Kiki rushed to Johannesburg to address the matter. According to Tytie, a case has been opened against them at the Sandton Police Station, though the specific charges have not yet been fully revealed.
The couple expressed their fear and confusion regarding the situation, admitting their limited understanding of the legal process. They noted that the summons was in English, which added to their difficulty in fully comprehending the accusations and the legal road ahead, prompting their decision to seek professional legal advice.
The Live Stream Fallout
At the center of the legal trouble appears to be a recent Facebook Live broadcast where Tytie and Kiki discussed an incident involving fellow content creators, Nyathi and Mai Nyathi. The conflict began when Tytie and Kiki reported the Nyathis' Facebook page, which resulted in the suspension of its monetization features.
In response, Nyathi and Mai Nyathi engaged the services of Zimbabwean lawyer Moreboys Munetsi. After the lawyer reportedly contacted Tytie and Kiki for a meeting, the influencers took to Facebook Live to share Munetsi's contact details, urging their followers to bombard him with calls. This act of publicizing the lawyer's personal information appears to have been the direct trigger for the legal action taken against them.
A Legal Battle Ahead
The summons reportedly demands that Tytie and Kiki take down the controversial Facebook Live video and issue a formal public apology. Facing an uncertain legal future, the couple has stated their intention to secure legal counsel to help them navigate the complex proceedings within the South African justice system.
The incident has ignited widespread speculation and discussion across social media platforms. Fans and followers of all parties involved have been expressing a mix of concern, support, and criticism, turning the personal dispute into a public spectacle. As the story continues to unfold, the public is watching closely to see how this high-stakes legal battle will play out.
