The Inspiring Journey of Janet Manyowa - From Chegutu Church Choir to Award-Winning Gospel Star

Janet Manyowa, a name synonymous with soulful gospel music in Zimbabwe, wasn't always on the grand stage.

Born in Chegutu on March 18, 1985, her passion for music blossomed at a young age. Recognizing this talent, her supportive parents enrolled her in music school when she was just ten. It was there that Janet nurtured her skills and discovered a profound love for gospel music.

Her journey began not under the spotlight, but leading praise and worship in her local church, where her voice resonated with faith and inspiration.

King of Glory: A Debut That Paved the Way

The year 2015 marked a turning point in Janet's career. Her debut album, "King of Glory," was released in August, and its success propelled her onto the national stage. Singles like "Amazing God" and "Ndomira Pamuri" became anthems for gospel music lovers, establishing Janet as a rising star.

The critical acclaim wasn't just local; her talent was recognized with a Best Newcomer Award at the Permican Gospel Awards, solidifying her place in the competitive Zimbabwean gospel music scene.

Grateful: Collaboration and Continued Success

Buoyed by the positive reception of "King of Glory," Janet returned in 2017 with her sophomore album, "Grateful." The launch event, held at the Celebration Centre Auditorium, was a grand affair featuring renowned South African gospel artists like Dr. Tumi, Ntokozo Mbambo, and Nqubeko Mbatha.
